About the Role:

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Dietitians for an 0.8 EFT temporary, Grade 2 Dietitian at Joan Kirner Hospital for 12 months (parental leave backfill from January 2026).

Key Responsibilities:

The primary workload for this role is in the Newborn Services Unit and Children's Ward.

In addition, this workload encompasses a component of built-in leave cover to the Joan Kirner Dietetics team, which could include Maternity Inpatients/Outpatients and Paediatric Outpatients. As a result, this role will require inpatient and outpatient delivery to the Joan Kirner Women's and Children's Hospital.

This role requires the successful candidate to work with those with complex needs, providing multidisciplinary care and working side by side in clinics with the medical and allied health team. It will involve working within our Newborn Services Developmental Care Team, which has the potential to include quality improvement projects.

In addition to Paediatrics, this role will include some Gestational Diabetes group sessions, and a small workload in our Better @ Home Adult Endocrinology Telehealth Diabetes service. This 0.8 EFT role has the capacity to be split into a job share role.

About You:

  • Must have, or be currently eligible for, membership of Dietitians Australia.
  • Must have suitable clinical experience. This role is not suitable for new graduates - graduates need not apply.
  • Good organisation, prioritisation and time management skills.
  • Relish a busy workload juggling several competing demands
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Can work independently and within a well-developed multi-disciplinary team.
