About the role:

The position of Taxation Accountant will be employed by HBT Australia Pty Limited and provide financial shared services for HBT Australia Pty Limited, HBT Services QLD Pty Limited, Pempek Systems Pty Limited and HBT Waratah Engineering Pty Limited businesses. This position will support and develop the financial business systems and efficient and effective financial decision.

The Payroll Officer's key Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and lodge corporate income tax returns, BAS, and FBT statements.
  • Coordination, preparation and lodgement of Country-by-Country Australian Local File (CBC-ALF) transfer pricing, including benchmarking and documentation.
  • Ensuring compliance with ATO regulations and statutory deadlines.
  • Assisting with tax audits and liaise with external auditors and tax authorities.
  • Providing strategic advice on tax-effective structures and transactions.
  • Identifying opportunities for tax savings and risk mitigation.
  • Analysing financial statements to assess tax implications.
  • Monitoring changes in tax legislation and assess impact on the business.
  • Assisting in forecasting tax liabilities and provisioning.
  • Maintaining and improving internal tax processes and controls.
  • Implementing and managing tax software and systems.
  • Collaborating with finance and legal teams to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Supporting development, implementation and maintenance of accounting and administrative systems procedures.

About you:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in tax or accounting (or equivalent).
  • CA, CPA or working towards completion.

Previous Knowledge & Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of Australian corporate tax law and ATO Procedures
  • Experience corporate tax and tax affect accounting
  • Strong financial analysis and strategic analysis experience for an original equipment manufacturer of distributor (preferrable multinational).
  • Experience implementing tax CCH Tax Integrator and optimising financial systems (preferrable SAP, Ostendo, MYOB or Microsoft Navision).
  • Advanced Microsoft Excell skills including experience in development of models and tools (preferable in power BI and power query and/or equivalent)
  • Strong financial analysis and strategic analysis experience for an original equipment manufacturer of distributor (preferrable multinational).
  • Previous experience in a taxation accountant/financial business partner/management accounting/controlling position.
