As an Aqua Aerobics Instructor, you'll be part of a team that encourages participation, supports individual goals, and creates a welcoming and professional environment for people of all ages and abilities. Whether you're guiding patrons through their class or helping build a positive atmosphere, your work contributes to a vibrant and healthy community.

The Opportunity: Lead energetic and inclusive aqua aerobics classes at the Bairnsdale Aquatic and Recreation Centre (BARC), delivering safe, motivating workouts for participants of all fitness levels. You'll plan and instruct sessions, manage equipment setup, monitor class safety and attendance, and help promote a vibrant aquatic program that supports community wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver safe, energetic aqua aerobics classes for participants of all fitness levels.
• Set up and pack down equipment, and report any maintenance or safety issues.
• Monitor class attendance and ensure participant check-in aligns with industry guidelines.
• Communicate facility updates and maintain appropriate music and microphone levels.
• Keep qualifications current and contribute to the promotion and evaluation of the aqua program.

What we're looking for (Key Selection Criteria)

• High level interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in exercise programming for a range of populations.
• Strong customer focus.
• Commitment to improving and growing the Centre.

Required Qualifications:

• AUSTSWIM WETS AQUA Instructor accreditation or equivalent.
• Current AUSTSWIM Teacher License or equivalent.
• Current Level 2 First Aid certificate.
• Current CPR Certificate.
• Employee Working with Children Check

If successful, you will need to undertake a police check. You must also be legally entitled to work in Australia.
