YHA Sydney Harbour, boasting 263 beds across 106 rooms, is situated in the city's core, offering cozy and economical lodging to both groups and solo travellers from across the globe. Perched with a backdrop of breathtaking vistas of Sydney Harbour, the Opera House, and the Harbour Bridge, this award-winning YHA stands atop the archaeological echoes of The Rocks, Sydney's storied quarter, melding cutting-edge amenities and eco-friendly practices with a touch of historical charm.

About the roles:

We are seeking Food & Beverage Attendants to join the team on a part-time basis. Our Food & Beverage Attendants are able to work in multiple areas including in the cafe as a barista, the bar (with one of the best views in Sydney) or as kitchen hands. These positions are responsible for ensuring the bar, cafe and kitchen run smoothly by assisting wherever required. All of our Food and Beverage staff interact with people regularly, so a friendly positive attitude, and strong customer service skills are paramount.

What your duties will look like:

• Preparing/serving of coffee, food and drinks including taking orders.
• Operating a point-of-sale terminal and EFTPOS machine plus cash handling.
• Cafe cleaning duties including cleaning coffee machines and equipment.
• Refilling drink fridges and snacks.
• Maintaining service area to food safety standards
• Support of the Front Desk / Cafe Team with a "can do" attitude

What we are looking for:

• Demonstrated experience within a fast-paced cafe, restaurant, bar or either hotel or retail food and beverage outlet (ideally 2 years +)
• High volume experience being able to work on multiple orders at once
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure
• Outgoing personality and genuine interest in the day-to-day operations
• Excellent attention to detail & ability to follow instructions
• Exceptional presentation and grooming
• Flexible availability 24/7 roster including weekends and public holidays
