About The Role
The Azure Architect will be responsible for driving the design and delivery of solutions across the Azure estate, which includes AVD, Power Platforms, Integration Services, and Data & Analytics.
The Azure Architect will collaborate closely with security, networking, and cloud adoption teams to design and implement both hybrid cloud and cloud-native solutions.
Responsibilities
- Partner with stakeholders, internal teams, and vendors to capture requirements and design Azure-based solutions aligned with business objectives, technology strategies, security standards, and best practices.
- Evaluate existing infrastructure and define standards, strategies, and roadmaps for seamless migration to Azure.
- Implement and maintain security controls to ensure Azure environments meet compliance requirements and safeguard data and applications.
- Support teams in migrating solutions to the Azure Enterprise-Scale Landing Zone Framework, including future on-premises migrations and legacy workload transitions.
- Produce architecture diagrams, technical documentation, and presentations to effectively communicate solution designs to stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Proactively identify opportunities to optimize Azure resources, control costs, and enhance the efficiency of cloud operations.
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in an Azure Architecture role with hands-on solution design, governance, policy enforcement, and development of architecture standards, templates, and patterns.
- 5+ years' experience in infrastructure support/administration, with proven capability working in hybrid cloud environments across Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365, including hybrid networking.
- Strong knowledge of Azure services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), Infrastructure as Code (PowerShell, BICEP), automation, scripting, and Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, with experience in optimisation, reliability, patching, and security.
- Demonstrated experience in cloud migration, application readiness assessments, server builds, data migration, and performance tuning, working within Agile and DevOps environments.
- Relevant Microsoft certifications (Azure Fundamentals, Administrator, Solution Architect Expert; Network Engineer desirable) with excellent written, oral, and stakeholder communication skills, alongside self-motivation and passion for cloud-based services.
