We are seeking a Senior Compliance Manager to lead and guide the Compliance team in maintaining Metro's high standards of regulatory compliance and operational excellence. This involves proactively managing compliance frameworks, educating the business on fraud prevention, and fostering a culture of regulatory compliance among introducers. This role is crucial in protecting Metro's operations and reputation.

Responsibilities:
Consumer Quality Assurance & Fraud Prevention

  • Lead the review of high-risk applications, managing fraud investigations and ensuring effective detection and escalation protocols. Ensure relevant fraud monitoring and awareness databases have been maintained correctly.
  • Oversee the timely delivery of Line 2 Consumer QA reviews, identifying trends, root causes, and opportunities for control enhancement.

Business Support and Stakeholder Management

  • Maintain oversight of broker and accountant watch lists, and the supplier blacklist, to mitigate operational and reputational risk.
  • Provide leadership support for servicing, settlements, and sales teams by responding to ad-hoc business queries and enabling operational efficiency.

Compliance & Regulatory Oversight

  • Lead the Compliance team's execution of AML/CTF transaction monitoring obligations, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations.
  • Oversee Metro Group compliance with responsible lending requirements, providing subject matter expertise and guidance to operational departments.
  • Maintain ownership of the Group Policies Register

Broker Compliance Management

  • Oversee the broker accreditation and onboarding program, ensuring frameworks for thorough due diligence exist and compliance with policy and licensing requirements is maintained.

How to succeed:

  • Strong leadership and mentoring experience
  • Complex problem-solving drawing on precedents and experience
  • Sound communication skills with an ability for effective negotiation and persuasion of stakeholders
  • Advanced understanding of AML/CTF and KYC regulatory requirements
  • Superior understanding of credit and financial analysis techniques
  • Strong understanding of the broker referral channel
  • MUST have full permanent working rights (citizen or PR)
