Project Overview:

Pluto Train 2 is the expansion of a second LNG train at the existing Pluto LNG onshore facility near Karratha in Western Australia run by Woodside Energy.

Pluto Train 2 will process Scarborough gas and have an LNG capacity of ~5 million tones per annum. As part of the construction of Pluto Train 2, additional domestic gas infrastructure will be installed to increase capacity to ~225 Terajoules per day.

Woodside Energy has selected Bechtel to deliver the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning scope of work for Pluto Train 2.

What's On Offer:

• 3:1 roster, FIFO to Karratha with direct flight from Brisbane & Perth, and flights from all major airports.
• Fly home morning of day 21, paid at ordinary hours - home the same day
• RDO is accrued - choose to have it paid during RNR or at the end of your contract
  
  Full time, permanent employment (4 weeks of annual leave, 10 days of personal leave)
• $5.40 per hour site allowance
• $1.93 per hour trade allowance
• $175 per week project incentive payment (PIP)
• Severance payment of 2 x base hourly rate per week
• 68 hour work week and weekly pay

Skills & Experience

• A nationally accredited qualification, Certificate III in industrial coatings or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of Heavy Industry/Project experience.
• Construction Induction Safety certificate (White Card)
• Confined space trained or willing to obtain
• Working at heights trained or willing to obtain
• Chartek 7 trained - with trowel application experience highly desired but not essential
• Comfortable working in the hot and physically demanding environment of the Pilbara region
• Able to climb stairs, work at heights on ladders, steps and scaffolds
• Prior knowledge of various coating and surface preparation methods
• Be competent in the surface preparation and coating application of piping and structural steel to meet project specification
• Prior knowledge in the complexities of multi product, multi coat coating systems
• Prior knowledge of maintaining and operating pneumatic/ battery tools and equipment safely
• Understanding of PTW, JHA systems

Tasks & responsibilities

• Competent in carrying out daily surface preparation activities of piping & structural steel welds in a variety of methods including but not limited to encapsulated abrasive blasting, IBIX bag blasting, mechanical preparation and or hand preparation
• Competent in carrying out daily industrial coating application activities of piping & structural steel welds in a variety of methods including but not limited to airless spray painting, conventional spray painting and or brush and roller application methods in accordance with strict project specification
• Ensured adherence to all site and safety requirements
• Carry out additional labouring and ad hoc industrial service duties when required by site supervision

Additional Information

This position has responsibilities that include exposure to changing environmental, construction, and operational conditions, which may include: extensive walking in and around an active construction and/or operations site, climbing ladders, working at heights from work platforms including scaffolding, and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), use of personal fall arrest equipment, walking and working on uneven surfaces, working in constricted and/or confined spaces, variable work shifts (e.g., day, night, weekends, 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift, etc.), and work in inclement weather. Some lifting may be required. Candidate must be able to use standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. respirator, harness, life vest, hearing protection, etc.).

The Pluto Train 2 Project is a Major Hazard Facility meaning this is a non-smoking site and no tobacco products – i.e. cigarettes, vapes, lighters, tobacco - are permitted to be brought to the site. Mobile phones and other personal electronic devices – i.e. wireless headphones, iPads, smart watches - are also not permitted on site.
