About the role
We're seeking a Recoveries Officer to contribute to the success of the Company. The successful candidate will ensure they are supporting the DCA's in responding to daily enquires. The prompt responses to the DCA will provide effective collections in the NAT and retail portfolios, to reduce bad debt and result in amicable outcomes.

Day-to-day, you will:
Action and resolve DCA enquires within target time frames (24 turnaround time)
Liaise with stakeholders regarding credit management and customer accounting matters
Identify customers experiencing financial hardship and assist them with payment solution options in line with Transurban policies
Monitor systems and processes to ensure timely handling of DCA files and escalate issues promptly
Effectively identify and minimise potential bad debts and negotiate favourable outcomes within a timely manner
Conduct fortnightly reconciliations to ensure DCA are TU systems align
Provide assistance with validating invoices
Provide support to the Senior Recoveries Officer and Recoveries Team Leader
Support DCA's and enable them to increase collections in the NAT and retail portfolio, nationally
Provide guidance on best practice to resolve issues
Support the Recoveries Performance Team on insights were possible through query management
Educate the DCA to self-manage
Identify simplification opportunities
This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including:
Previous experience in credit, accounts receivable or DCA management function (exposure to high workload volume)
Knowledge of credit or DCA/recoveries processes, collection techniques, and relevant legislation or credit reporting is highly advantageous but not required, as training is provided
Great communication and interpersonal skills – for effective interaction with team members, customers, and stakeholders at all levels.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook and advanced Excel functions)
Proactive problem-solver with a passion for exploring deep to develop innovative solutions
A curious and adaptable learner, eager to embrace new processes and systems
