About the role
Cobram Hotel is seeking an experienced and talented Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. As Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in the day-to-day operations of our bustling kitchen. This full-time position is based in the charming town of Cobram, Victoria.
What you'll be doing
- Assisting the Head Chef in managing all kitchen operations and staff, including food preparation, menu planning, and inventory management
- Ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and customer satisfaction
- Overseeing the work of the kitchen team, providing guidance, mentorship, and training as needed
- Collaborating with the Head Chef to develop and implement new menu items and creative culinary concepts
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Contributing to the overall success and growth of the Cobram Hotel culinary program
What we're looking for
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar senior culinary role
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, presentation, and kitchen management
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team
- Passion for creating innovative and delicious dishes using high-quality, locally sourced ingredients
- Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene
