As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a passionate and skilled Engineering Technologist (Mechanical) to join our engineering division.
About the Role:
The Engineering Technologist (Mechanical) will play a key role in the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems used in KS Environmental's waste management, wash bay, and water recycling operations.
You will apply mechanical engineering principles and hands-on technical skills to support system design, testing, installation, and maintenance, ensuring reliability, safety, and compliance with relevant Australian Standards.
This position suits a practical, detail-oriented technologist who enjoys combining CAD design, mechanical analysis, and on-site application.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design and optimization of mechanical systems, including truck wash bays, fluid systems, and plant equipment.
- Prepare 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for fabrication and installation.
- Conduct flow rate, pressure, and material strength calculations to ensure system reliability.
- Support testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of mechanical and hydraulic systems.
- Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs), manufacturing documentation, and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with suppliers and fabricators to ensure compliance with Australian Standards and KS Environmental specifications.
- Contribute to the improvement of equipment performance and water recycling efficiency.
- Provide on-site technical support during system installations and maintenance activities.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Degree or Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology (or equivalent).
- Proficient in CAD, mechanical systems design and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
