Your new role
12-month max-term contract opportunity for an Environment Manager to plan and manage AustralianSuper's end-to-end non-production environments as part of an extensive member experience transformation program.
Reporting to the Guardian Program Test Lead, the Environment Manager will work with project teams to understand their environment requirements, manage the schedule of environment usage, govern the deployment and release management processes and work with the project, vendors & technical teams to build and implement fit for purpose environments. The Environment Manager will also provide test leadership in support of the Guardian Program Test Lead.
The Environment Manager will be an excellent communicator (both verbal and written) and able to lead, manage and influence senior stakeholders in environment risk and issue resolution.
Key duties include but are not limited to:
- Demonstrated env management experience across on prem / Azure cloud, including use of tools for proactive management for optimization of environment usage, performance and availability.
- Maintaining a central repository of environments in scope with their latest endpoints / connectivity and version details. This includes details of technical infrastructure, which the applications reside including third party dependencies.
- Define and agree deployment schedules with Project, and various application teams.
- Communicate environment availability to project teams
- Coordinate with Infrastructure / DBA teams when provisioning the environments for the projects.
- Coordinate activities of release engineers to automate the setup and configuration of environments.
- Log, coordinate and resolve defects related to environments to provide the stable environments.
- Preliminary investigation of issues on the environment and sometimes co-ordination till an issue resolution.
- Support continuous delivery and Testing. Adapt environment management to support on-demand, self-service automation.
What you'll need
- Extensive professional experience working in the IT industry.
- Knowledge and experience in continuous Integration and delivery pipelines.
- Experience in release and environment management.
- Experience in test management.
- Full system lifecycle management experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work with multiple internal and external stakeholders concurrently
- Knowledge of modern development patterns and approaches (Eg: Agile, Lean, AB testing, microservices architecture).
- You will be knowledgeable, technically skilled and be able to communicate, educate & coach all stakeholders at all levels to deliver strong and achievable environment outcomes.
- Ideally you will be highly collaborative with stakeholders and vendors to deliver outcomes and resolve issues.
- You must have proven results in vendor management, influencing, implementing, and executing change.
