Position DetailsMater Dei College has the opportunity for a part-time, temporary (with a possibility of an extension) Liturgy Coordinator to become an integral part of the College's liturgical and spiritual life, supporting our Catholic mission and identity. The role will ideally commence Semester 2, 2025 (July).
We are looking for a dedicated individual who will bring a deep understanding of Catholic liturgy, a collaborative spirit, and a commitment to supporting the College's mission and vision.
The responsibilities of the Liturgy Coordinator will include, but are not limited to:
- Planning and conducting College Liturgies and prayer services such as Opening Mass, Foundation Day Mass, Year Masses, and the Year 12 Graduation Mass.
- Organising prayer for assemblies, staff briefings, and College events.
- Training and supporting staff and student liturgical roles, including altar servers, Ministers of the Word, and Ministers of the Eucharist.
- Managing the College Chapel and sacred spaces, including seasonal decorations.
- Promoting links with local parishes and clergy.
- Liaising with the Music and Dance Departments for celebrations.
- Collaborating with the Director of Ministry, Principal and Leadership Team on faith formation for staff.
The successful applicant will demonstrate a high level of professionalism and is committed to the Catholic ethos of the College.
The successful applicant will posses relevant tertiary qualifications in Education (preferably Religious Education) and will hold a strong knowledge of Catholic liturgy and a commitment to faith formation.
A high level of organisational and time management skills are also required for the role
Qualifications Required
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, preferably in Religious Education
- Graduate Diploma in Education (Secondary) or equivalent
- Hold a current registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia
- Hold a current Working with Children Check (WWC)
- Hold, or be working towards completion of, Accreditation to Teach in a Catholic School, Accreditation to Teach Religious Education or Accreditation for Leadership in Catholic Schools
- Annually complete Child Protection Procedures and Mandatory Reporting Training
- Knowledge of Catholic Liturgy and sacramental practices
- An understanding of Catholic education mission and ethos
- Experience planning and leading liturgical celebrations
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively with students, colleagues, parents/guardians and external partners
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong time management and organisational skills
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking abilities
