Counter Salesperson

Cardiff Metal Market is a long-standing supplier of roofing, fencing, gates, RHS, SHS, purlins, and a wide range of other building materials. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Counter Salesperson to join our busy team.

This is a fast-paced, customer-focused position where you will be the first point of contact for our valued customers both in person and via phone/email. Daily tasks will include:

• Greeting and assisting customers face-to-face, over the phone, and via email
• Answering product enquiries and preparing customer quotes
• Processing sales through POS and EFTPOS systems
• Placing and following up on supplier orders
• Co-ordination of deliveries and pick-ups with customers and yard staff
• Daily balancing

• Previous experience in counter sales, or a customer service role within the building or hardware industry
• Knowledge of metal products and building materials (roofing, fencing, RHS, SHS, purlins, etc.)
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work under pressure in a busy environment
• A professional, customer-first attitude
• Confidence using POS systems (training on our in-house software provided)

• Current Forklift License
• Current Driver's License
• White Card
• Be physically fit and able to lift up to 20kg

A background as an ex-builder, tradesperson, or similar will be highly regarded.
