The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior Hydraulic Engineer to join our growing team. With solid local experience, you have a strong design understanding, are team and delivery focused, and have a positive attitude and passion for growth.
You bring outstanding hydraulic experience, practical knowledge, significant project management ability, and thorough technical understanding. You are confident when communicating and routinely demonstrate your ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, project teams, and internal teams.
About You
- 8+ years' experience in Australian building services, ideally in consulting.
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
- Extensive experience with complex hydraulic services engineering concept to construction completion.
- Practical knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and National Code of Construction.
- Experience leading and coordinating multi-discipline discipline projects including managing client expectations.
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with the client, project team and internal teams.
- Proven project, organisation and time management skills.
- Revit design and modelling experience highly regarded.
Technical Skills
- Revit design and modelling experience highly regarded.
- Ability to multitask, balance high attention to detail with efficiency while meeting project commitments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Satisfy codes, standards, project and quality requirements.
Personal Attributes
- Intelligent and articulate verbal and written communication skills.
- Passionate about mentoring and coaching junior engineers and designers
Key Responsibilities
Design & Technical
- Deliver detailed design for all elements of Hydraulics, including including hot & cold water, sanitary plumbing & drainage, storm water drainage, gas services, fire services, domestic wastewater treatment systems.
- Carry out design calculations and return briefs, working to project timelines and budget.
- Problem-solve complex design challenges, delivering exceptional solutions for clients.
- Maintain technical understanding and knowledge base in Hydraulics.
- Satisfy codes, standards, project and quality requirements.
- Calculations and return briefs.
- Proficiency with latest technology – REVIT/AutoCAD, BIM360, HYENA, Microsoft Suite including Office and OneDrive.
Project Management
- Project involvement through all phases, from tender preparation and design delivery through to construction support.
- Proactive and innovative approach to solutions
- Multi-disciplinary team coordination and project management.
- Project administration including scheduling, estimating and report preparation.
- Client/design meetings and site inspections.
Client & Team Engagement
- Direct client engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
- Routinely demonstrate your ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with the client, project team and internal teams.
- Hands-on mentoring and coaching of junior engineers and designers.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships across all stakeholders.
