Experienced Perinatal Psychologist/Accredited Mental Health Social Worker/Mental Health Occupational Therapists to work at Gidget House Muswellbrook

The Position:

We're looking for Clinical Psychologists, Registered Psychologists, Mental Health O.T's or accredited Mental Health Social Workers to deliver face to face psychological support at our newly established Gidget House site in Muswellbrook, located at Tresillian Muswellbrook Family Care Centre. Our specialist perinatal (conception to one year postpartum) clinicians provide a wide range of individual, and parent-infant therapies to women and their partners. In addition to pre-conception counselling, we offer services to those experiencing, or at risk of developing, perinatal depressive, anxiety and trauma or stressor-related disorders. Support is also provided to women and their partners who have experienced a pregnancy or childbirth-related loss, e.g. stillbirth, miscarriage or termination.

The service is delivered through Medicare's Better Access initiative and the remuneration for all clinicians is therefore the affiliated Medicare bulk-billing Rebate.

In addition, in partnership with Federation University, Gidget Foundation Australia offers a Graduate Diploma in Perinatal Mental Health, to clinicians requiring upskilling in their perinatal skills.  Intakes occur twice yearly.

Requirements:

·     Demonstrated proficiency in psychological assessment and evidence-based therapy

·     AHPRA registration with endorsements in psychology or accreditation as a mental health social worker.

·     At least 3 years post-registration experience, and specific experience working with perinatal clients or in a complementary field. (For social workers, demonstrated independent caseload management experience with perinatal clients prior to accreditation may be considered), or a willingness to undertake further PMH training

·     Demonstrated ability to work within a recovery-oriented model, utilising a person/family centred approach.

·     Demonstrated high level communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

·     Ability to work independently under approved professional supervision.

·     Effective caseload management.
