The weather's warming up and the silly season is fast approaching – and The Normanby Hotel is on the lookout for an experienced, passionate Assistant Manager to join our leadership team full-time.

We're looking for a natural-born leader, a true people person who thrives in a busy, high-energy environment and has a love for hospitality, especially in food, beverage, gaming and TAB.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Venue Manager, you'll assist in leading the team through high-volume service periods while always maintaining top-tier customer service. You'll be involved in all aspects of the venue's operations, from compliance and procedures to hands-on leadership and team development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support the team across all areas of the venue
  • Lead from the front and inspire a positive team culture
  • Communicate and implement venue policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety and liquor licensing regulations
  • Maintain efficient reporting and operational procedures
  • Operate with a controlled sense of urgency under pressure
  • Strive to deliver the best possible customer experience
  • Be available for a full-time rotating roster, including nights and weekends

About You

  • Proven experience in a similar Assistant Manager or Duty Manager role
  • Strong hospitality background in food, beverage, gaming, and service
  • Confident and clear communicator with leadership presence
  • Ability to stay calm, think on your feet, and solve problems quickly
  • Driven to exceed targets and deliver results
  • A team player with a can-do attitude and passion for hospitality
