The OpportunityAre you a highly skilled Traffic Controller and/or Operate a Truck Mounted Attenuator (OTMA)? We are seeking dedicated and safety-focused professionals to join our dynamic team.
This critical role involves not only directing traffic but also operating our state-of-the-art Truck Mounted Attenuator (TMA) vehicles to provide a safe buffer for our workers and clients. You will be on the front lines, ensuring the smooth flow of traffic and the security of our work sites on high-volume roads and major projects across Perth and regional WA.
Key Responsibilities- Safely operate and position Truck Mounted Attenuator (TMA) vehicles in accordance with site-specific Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGS) and Main Roads WA standards.
- Implement, maintain, and dismantle temporary Traffic Management setups, including signage and devices.
- Control vehicle and pedestrian traffic using stop/slow bats and two-way radio communication.
- Conduct thorough pre-start checks on vehicles and all traffic management equipment.
- Monitor worksite safety, traffic flow, and performance, promptly adjusting controls as required.
- Complete necessary site safety documentation and administrative records accurately.
- Work a variety of shifts, including early starts, night shifts, and weekends, as project demands require.
The successful candidate must possess the following essential licenses and experience:
- A current (C) Driver's Licence or higher.
- Current Main Roads WA Operate Truck Mounted Attenuator (OTMA) Accreditation. (Optional).
- Current Main Roads WA Basic Worksite Traffic Management (BWTM) & Traffic Controller (TC) Accreditations. (Mandatory)
- A valid Construction Safety Awareness Training Card (White Card). (Mandatory)
- Proven experience in implementing traffic management plans/TGS and operating a TMA on high-volume roads.
- A strong, demonstrable commitment to workplace safety and WHS procedures.
- Excellent communication skills, reliability, and flexibility to meet project requirements.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment and ongoing drug and alcohol screening.
