Groundsman

Position Available: Groundsman/woman

We are seeking a reliable, hardworking individual that can take on the position as groundsman/woman. You will be operating the chainsaw cutting logs, clearing debris and chipper feeding. Ideally you hold a current MR license as there may be times when you are required to drive the truck from our yard based at Chevallum to site.

You must enjoy working outdoors, have a strong work ethic, be physically fit with a high focus on safety. Duties included but not limited to timber cutting using chainsaw, pruning and general labouring/clearing debris as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate chainsaw for felling, trimming and/or cut trees and logs
• Safe Loading and unloading equipment, safety signs etc when required
• Clear vegetation and debris as directed by site supervisor
• Maintain chainsaw equipment and ensure safe usage
• Follow safety protocols and environmental guidelines
• Collaborate with team members and report to site supervisor

Skills & Qualifications

• Chainsaw competency certification (e.g., AQF Level II or equivalent)
• Preferred current MR truck driver's license
• Chainsaw competency certification (e.g., AQF Level II or equivalent)
• Strong physical fitness and stamina
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Basic mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance is a bonus
• Commitment to safety and environmental care

Job Type: Subcontract

Pay: $25.19 – $30.00 per hour
