Job Purpose

Reporting to the Lands Manager, the Senior Property Advisor provides senior technical support on land and property matters across the Yamatji Land Estate and acts as the Lands Manager's deputy on complex land-related assessments.

Capability Requirements

Technical Land Due Diligence

 Demonstrated capability to support and contribute to structured land and property due diligence processes, including assessment of tenure, statutory constraints, environmental and contamination considerations, third-party interests, and commercial implications. Land Economics and Commercial Assessment

 Demonstrated capability to undertake land economics and commercial assessments to inform allocation decisions, including analysis of holding costs, constraints, development feasibility, and value realisation pathways. Professional Judgement and Risk Analysis

 Demonstrated ability to exercise sound professional judgement in environments of high ambiguity, balancing commercial, cultural, environmental, and governance considerations. Advisory and Written Communication Skills

 Demonstrated ability to prepare clear, evidence-based written advice for senior management and governance forums, including Executive, Boards and Trustees. Technical Stakeholder and Consultant Interface

 Demonstrated capability to work effectively with internal teams, Traditional Owners, government agencies, and external consultants, including commissioning, reviewing, and interpreting external advice to support allocation decisions.

Key Accountabilities & Results Area

Land Due Diligence

 Support the Lands Manager in undertaking land and property due diligence to inform recommendations on whether land should be allocated, rejected, or deferred, including consideration of tenure, statutory constraints, existing tenements and other third-party interests, and associated risks.

Allocation Pathways

 Assess and advise on allocation pathways across the Yamatji Land Estate, recognising that allocation may occur through management orders or freehold transfer depending on tenure, constraints, and strategic intent.

Stewardship and Ownership Responsibilities

 Support land-related decision-making that recognises differing obligations arising from land tenure, including stewardship and management responsibilities associated with management orders, and ownership, commercial, and compliance responsibilities associated with freehold land.

Holding Costs and Risks

 Assess land holding costs and risks associated with allocated and unallocated land, including rates, statutory charges, insurance, compliance obligations, and ongoing management requirements.
