Head of Retail

Join one of Australia's fastest-growing lifestyle brands
At Sheet Society, we've redefined what it means to make the bed better, now we're redefining what great retail looks like. We're growing fast, opening beautiful new stores across Australia, and we're looking for an experienced, passionate, and commercially-driven Head of Retail to lead this next chapter of Growth.
The Opportunity:
Reporting directly to the Founder/CEO, you'll take the reins of our growing retail network and customer experience function, leading an incredibly passionate team spanning store operations, visual merchandising, and customer service.
This is a career-defining opportunity to shape how one of Australia's most exciting brands shows up IRL. With 3 new stores opening this year and more on the way, you'll be responsible for bringing our brand to life through elevated experiences, operational excellence, and exceptional team leadership.
You'll drive:
- National retail growth - overseeing all stores and leading our ambitious rollout plan.
- New store openings - from strategy and site planning to build, team recruitment, and launch.
- Operational excellence - creating scalable systems, processes, and reporting that future-proof growth.
- Customer Experience - leading a team that delivers genuine, brand-led service across every touchpoint.
- People and performance - developing and inspiring high-performing retail leaders and teams.
About the Team:
Supported by a Visual Merchandising Manager, Retail Operations Specialist, Store Managers, and a Customer Service Lead, this role will collaborate closely with Marketing, Operations, Finance, and Merch Planning to drive a seamless omnichannel experience.
About You:
You're an accomplished retail leader with experience scaling national retail networks, ideally within a premium or lifestyle brand. You combine a commercial mindset with creativity, a passion for developing people, and a love for the pace of retail. You're equally at home on the sales floor, in strategic planning sessions, or working through a store launch timeline. You know how to blend operational discipline with brand storytelling.
You'll bring:
- 8+ years of multi-site retail management (national or regional level)
- A proven track record of delivering growth and operational excellence
- A hands-on, collaborative, and empowering leadership style
- Strong financial literacy, comfortable managing budgets, forecasts, and P&Ls
- Experience in embedding high-quality team training, processes and culture
- Experience leading diverse teams across store operations, VM, and CX
- A deep understanding of what makes an exceptional Customer Journey in-store
Why Join Us:
At Sheet Society, we do things differently. You'll be part of a purpose-driven, design-led business that's disrupting a traditional category and growing fast. We move quickly, think creatively, and care deeply about our people, our customers, and our impact.
If you're ready to lead with purpose, grow with a brand that's scaling rapidly, and help us deliver exceptional retail experiences that people remember, we'd love to hear from you.
Why You'll Love It Here:
At Sheet Society, it's more than a workplace, it's a community. With that in mind, we're committed to making sure our employees are as happy in the workplace as our customers are in bed. Which is why our perks include:
- Onsite parking and great public transport links to our head office in Brunswick
