About the Centre/Service

Highmount Preschool offer 15 hours per week of three-year-old and four-year-old funded kindergarten programs, delivered by qualified, experienced and caring teachers and educators. The educational program is guided by the principles and outcomes outlined within the Victorian Early Years Framework (VEYLDF) and the National Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) – Belonging, Being and Becoming. Teachers and educators create an engaging, interactive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment where each child's learning and development opportunities are maximised through a high-quality play-based curriculum. Teachers and educators nurture, support, inspire and celebrate each child to develop positive dispositions for learning, social competence, emotional wellbeing, and identity. Children are provided with rich, authentic, and meaningful experiences that support connections with community, culture and nature. Educators facilitate this through positive relationships, intentional teaching, and inspiring and engaging learning experiences. Our program evolves in response to children's changing needs and interests, community feedback and teachers' best practice approach to pedagogy. The Preschool provides excellent staff support, with an administration manager, and experienced management.

Description

Highmount Preschool is offering two permanent, part-time positions for experienced educators to join our amazing educational team. Position 1: Total 24 hours - Primarily supporting 3 year old program Tuesday 8-4 Wednesday 8-4 Friday contact and 9 non-contact hours) Position 2: Total 24 hours - Primarily supporting 4 year old program Monday 8-4 Wednesday 8-4 Thursday contact and 9 non-contact hours) In 2027 Highmount Pre School will likely transition to two 7.5 hour days for both groups and the above schedule will have some variation to the above schedule. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:

  • Initiative and the ability to cohesively work within a team environment
  • Commitment to developing nurturing relationships with children and families
  • Excellent communication skills with a positive, enthusiastic and professional attitude
  • An articulate understanding of early childhood pedagogy and practice
  • Experience in supporting the implementation of a high quality educational program, based on approved learning frameworks
  • Confidence in their contribution to observations, reflections and documentation
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the NQF and VEYLDF
  • Commitment to continuous professional development

Experience with the StoryPark platform is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care
  • Minimum 3 years experience as an educator
  • WWCC and Criminal Record Check
  • Current First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma certificates
