A well-regarded organisation is seeking a Payroll Officer on a part-time, temporary basis to manage business-as-usual payroll operations while the Payroll Manager leads a system implementation project.

Your new role

You'll be responsible for managing end-to-end monthly payroll processing for approximately 250 staff. This includes preparing month-end journals, supporting payroll and labour reporting, and maintaining the Employee Self-Service (ESS) system.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Monthly payroll processing and salary updates
  • Managing ESS employee data
  • Termination and parental leave calculations
  • Resolving payroll queries and variances
  • Superannuation and payroll tax payments
  • Month-end reconciliation and journal preparation
  • Supporting reporting, leave analysis, and audit enquiries

What you'll need to succeed

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar payroll role
  • Strong working knowledge of
    Preceda (essential)
  • High attention to detail and Excel proficiency
  • Understanding of payroll legislation and awards
  • Strong communication and time management skills
