The Opportunity
We are seeking compassionate, collaborative and dedicated Teacher Assistants, who are strongly committed to the ethos and practices of Catholic Education and possess a genuine desire to support the holistic development of young people to join our Inclusive Learning team. We have multiple permanent part time positions available, commencing in Term 1, 2026, working up to 5 days a week hours per fortnight).
As a Teacher Assistant, you will work closely with students with high and complex needs, as well as those from a wide range of physical and intellectual abilities and diverse linguistic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds. You will provide tailored support and encouragement to help students thrive in an inclusive learning environment, while assisting teachers in delivering programs and interventions that promote participation, learning, and personal growth. This is a rewarding role where you can make a genuine difference in the academic, social, and emotional development of students.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and in accordance with the Tasmanian Catholic Education Single Enterprise Agreement 2024.
About You
As a Teacher Assistant you will:
- Support teachers in delivering student-focused learning outcomes.
- Foster creativity, innovation, and a passion for learning in students.
- Demonstrate strong literacy and numeracy skills to assist with learning.
- Encourage excellence in academics, co-curricular activities, and personal development.
- Relate to students with diverse and complex needs, including assisting with meal management and toileting care.
- Uphold high standards of professionalism, integrity, discretion, and resilience.
- Build and maintain positive professional relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and the wider school community.
- Perform effectively in dynamic environments with competing demands.
