Overall purpose of the team / program
The Gifts in Wills Supporter Engagement Officer is part of the Legacy & Community Giving team and reports directly to the National Manager, Legacy & Community Giving.
The Gifts in Wills Supporter Engagement Officer will make outbound calls to find and qualify potential legacy supporters, book clear next steps, and hand them to the cultivation team. They'll keep accurate CRM records, follow compliance guidelines, and provide simple weekly reports to track progress.
Overall purpose of position
Reporting to the National Manager, the primary objectives of this role are to:
- Qualify and progress prospective Gifts in Wills supporters via empathetic, compliant outbound calls, converting interest into Gifts in Wills cultivation journey next steps.
- Consistently deliver weekly GIW pipeline outcomes by meeting dialling, conversation, and conversion targets that feed a reliable stream of supporters to be nurtured to the Gifts in Wills pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
- High-volume, empathetic outbound calling to identify and qualify prospective Gifts in Wills (GIW) supporters, following compliant scripts and safeguarding guidelines.
- Needs-based conversation mapping & objection handling to convert interest into next steps (info packs, call-backs, events).
- Accurate CRM hygiene: log every interaction, update supporter stages, set tasks, and maintain a clean, auditable GIW pipeline.
- Weekly production delivery to meet dialling, conversation, and conversion targets that consistently feed supporters to be nurtured to the Gifts in Wills pipeline.
- Handover & follow-through with a coordinated warm transfers and scheduled follow-ups with cultivation, ensuring timely supporter touchpoints.
- Identify process bottlenecks, propose improvements, and share insights.
- Quality assurance & compliance by adhering to fundraising regulations, privacy/consent standards, and organisational tone-of-voice; flag risks promptly.
- Other duties as required.
Position Requirements
Skills
- Engaging verbal communication, rapid rapport-building, effective phone skills, and confident objection handling.
- Influence decisions ethically, overcome resistance, and guide supporters to next steps.
- Think creatively, tailor conversations to each supporter, show patience and care.
- Strong organisation, prioritisation, and multitasking to meet daily fundraising goals.
- Solid computer literacy and practical CRM-friendly habits.
Experience
- Understanding of NFP work.
- One (1) years' experience in a similar or related position.
- Understanding of PCI Compliance (desirable).
- Previous experience in fundraising or telemarketing is a plus.
