ABOUT US

We are part of a well-established US based global company, founded over 100 years ago that manufactures and supplies innovative market leading axle and suspension systems into the heavy transport industry.

THE POSITION

We are seeking a Quality Inspector to join our team. Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring that incoming materials, in-process assemblies, and finished products meet Hendrickson's strict quality standards and regulatory requirements.

This is a hands-on role where you will use inspection tools, manage NCRs and RMAs, liaise with suppliers, and support continuous improvement initiatives that drive customer satisfaction and operational excellence.

Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Inspect incoming materials, in-process assemblies, and finished products against engineering drawings and specifications using CMM arm, gauges, verniers, and other tools.
  • Manage NCRs and RMAs from initiation to closure, including supplier communication and ERP updates.
  • Perform and evaluate rework/repairs to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Implement quality stock management practices such as pending inspection, segregation, labelling, and inventory checks to prevent mix-ups and non-conforming product escapes.
  • Support internal and external audits and contribute to corrective/preventive actions.
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding returns, rework, credit, and quality issues.
  • Ensure calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment.
  • Provide accurate inspection reports and support structured problem-solving through data and evidence for 8D and CI processes.
  • Provide guidance and training to Production and Warehouse teams on quality requirements.

ABOUT YOU

You are a practical, hands-on inspector with a strong eye for detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You are confident working with cross-functional teams and suppliers, and you understand the importance of accuracy, traceability, and compliance in a manufacturing environment.

THE PERSON

  • 3–5 years' experience in quality control, inspection, or assurance in heavy truck and trailer industry.
  • Have basic understanding of metrology and experience using measuring equipment such as vernier, micrometer and CMM arm and gauges.
  • Knowledge of NCR, CAR, RMA processes and ERP systems.
  • Experience using hand and power tools for rework/repair.
  • Forklift and/or reach truck license with capability to handle heavy parts safely.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and general computer literacy
  • Have good communication skills (spoken and written) and be able to deal effectively with people at all levels within an organisation.
