About us
IOR is a family-owned business based in Brisbane, which has been fuelling Australia's industries for nearly 40 years. The business has been growing rapidly and consistently in the last decade in particular, and is now the only fully integrated, 100% Australian-owned fuel company in the country. Our operations span the entire country and the entire fuel value chain: a crude oil refinery, two import terminals, a growing bulk delivery fleet, on-road and on-airport unmanned refuelling networks, infrastructure manufacturing, and proprietary fuel management technology.
Approaching each day through our values of Innovation: finding solutions, Our Communities: serving people, and Reliability: getting results, our team are focussed on delivering what really matters to our customers.
About the role
As an integral part of our manufacturing process, the Industrial Painter will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and durability of our products through correct surface preparation, and painting techniques. This role will be based at our Port of Brisbane Workshop.

- Paint Application - Apply corrosion-resistant coatings using spray, brush, or roller techniques, ensuring consistency and uniformity to meet quality standards.
- Quality Control - Inspect painted surfaces for defects and ensure compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.
- Equipment Maintenance - Regularly maintain and clean painting equipment, reporting any malfunctions or maintenance needs.
- Safety Compliance & Collaboration - Follow safety protocols, dispose of hazardous materials correctly, and collaborate effectively with team members to meet production schedules.
About You
- Certification or training in industrial painting techniques, with a focus on the petroleum industry.
- Experience in industrial painting, ideally within a manufacturing or petroleum-related environment.
- Proficiency in surface preparation, including sanding, cleaning, and priming.
- Strong knowledge of painting methods, materials, and equipment.
- Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations in an industrial painting setting, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team to meet production goals.
