Position Summary
The Shift Supervisor plays a key role in the daily operations of a Pizza Hut store. They are responsible for leading the team during assigned shifts, ensuring great customer service, maintaining food safety standards, and supporting the Store Manager in achieving sales and operational targets.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Service
- Lead and supervise team members to deliver fast, friendly, and accurate service.
- Ensure all products (pizza, pasta, sides, desserts, and beverages) are prepared and served to Pizza Hut standards.
- Manage shift routines including opening, closing, cashing up, and completing store checklists.
- Monitor order accuracy for dine-in, takeaway, and delivery.
- Resolve customer issues promptly and professionally, escalating to the Store Manager when required.
Team Leadership
- Allocate tasks and ensure all team members are productive throughout the shift.
- Train, coach, and support new or existing staff in customer service, food preparation, and safety standards.
- Monitor staff punctuality, compliance with uniform standards, and adherence to company policies.
- Motivate and encourage teamwork to achieve shift performance goals.
Food Safety & Compliance
- Ensure food hygiene, cleanliness, and workplace safety standards are followed at all times.
- Check product rotation, storage, and stock levels to minimize waste.
- Enforce Pizza Hut policies on staff meals, discounts, and time sheets.
- Report any incidents, safety concerns, or policy breaches immediately.
Administration & Reporting
- Complete shift handovers with accurate notes for incoming supervisors or managers.
- Handle basic cash management tasks, including till balancing and safe counts, when required.
- Track and report on sales, service speed, and labor hours during the shift.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience in hospitality/quick service restaurants (QSR) or retail supervision preferred.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure during peak times.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
