Our Service Business Unit is expanding, and we have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Transformer Service Technician to join our Field Services team in Newcastle to support its growth and development. This role is a key to the success of the Service Business Unit by ensuring safe and profitable delivery of projects. The role is an important customer facing role ensuring the delivery of high-quality service work to power and distribution transformers to our customers
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing, executing and completing projects on-site and in the factory (when required)
- Performing transformer installations including supervision of offloading, assembly, fluid processing and electrical testing including the operation of all associated equipment
- Performing refurbishments, repairs, upgrades, and maintenance on transformers including all associated transformer equipment and processes
- Performing electrical work – terminating and connecting electrical wiring, installing and testing electrical wiring and circuits, performing electrical/electronic measurement, fault-finding and repairing/rectifying electrical circuits and/or equipment
- Preparing and completing all site entry and product compliance related documentation
- Providing leadership and direction to team(s) on site
- Ensuring day-to-day goals and objectives are met

Qualifications, knowledge and experience include:
- Trade background or postgraduate in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Trade background Mechanical, HVAC or electrical fitter, or electrician (A-class electrical license)
- Ability to read and understand general arrangement, electrical wiring, and control diagrams
Well Regarded
5 years of experience working in the HV enclosures, performing installation and maintenance of power transformers and/or mechanical assembly of large critical HV assets
- Certificate IV in Electrotechnology (Electrical A Grade License)
- Certificate IV in Electrical Instrumentation
- Experience with holding Network Authority to Receive Electrical Access Permits
