About the Role
You will provide intensive, culturally safe case management to support Aboriginal families and prevent children from entering Out of Home Care. This includes engaging families through therapeutic and strengths-based approaches, working collaboratively with internal and external services, and ensuring children's safety, connection to culture, and wellbeing.
This is a fixed-term contract until April 1, 2026.
Tasks and Responsibilities

Provide targeted, trauma-informed case management to Aboriginal children and families

Build strong, trust-based relationships with families and children

Develop action plans that increase safety and strengthen family bonds

Facilitate case plan meetings with DCJ and service partners every 90 days
-
Participate in an on-call roster and provide emergency support when needed

Maintain accurate records and contribute to service improvement

National Criminal History Check upon commencement

NSW Driver's Licence (minimum P2)
Skills and Experience
-
Experience in Out of Home Care or Child Protection

Relevant qualifications (TAFE or University) or significant community/life experience

Deep understanding of issues impacting Aboriginal communities

Experience working with families facing intergenerational trauma

Strong knowledge of mental health, substance use, and domestic violence impacts

Excellent communication, engagement, and report writing skills
-
Commitment to culturally respectful, strengths-based practice
