About the role
Banana Shire Council is looking for a reliable and experienced Roller Operator to join our Construction Team in Biloela. In this hands-on role, you'll be responsible for operating and maintaining roller machinery to support road construction across the region and carrying out general labouring tasks. You'll work under limited supervision and be part of a team that values safety, service excellence, and collaboration.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate roller equipment, safely, efficiently and to the required standards
- Perform general labouring duties
- Conduct pre-start checks and routine maintenance
- Report identified weeds
- Provide high quality plant operation services to the work teams at various locations within and outside of the Shire
- Maintain and service plant and equipment, in accordance with operating procedures
- Liaise with clients, other Council staff, the public, consultants, utility and government authorities in the performance of duties, including providing and obtaining information
- Undertake routine administrative tasks as required by the position, e.g. timesheet
You will have the following qualifications
- Queensland class 'HR' driver's licence
- Queensland General Construction Induction, White Card (formerly known as the Blue Card)
- Certificate of Competency - Roller
Desirable Qualification
- Other Plant/Equipment Competencies
- Traffic Controller Licence
- Implement Traffic Management Plans (ITMP) Qualification
