Border Express has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Account Management Leader to join our talented Sydney team.
As the NSW Leader for Account Management, you'll lead a high-performing team to deliver exceptional customer outcomes, drive commercial performance, and fuel growth across Border Express. This role empowers you to shape the future of customer management through leadership, enablement, strategy, and innovation.
You'll be the catalyst for team development, customer engagement, and revenue growth - all while ensuring compliance and continuous improvement across the state. With ownership of $140M+ in revenue and leadership over a dynamic team of customer managers and specialists, you'll inspire performance, challenge convention, and drive real impact.
Duties:
- Empower and enable your team to deliver structured customer engagement programs, build deep relationships, and drive retention and growth.
- Coach, mentor and develop your team with tailored onboarding, regular training, and individual performance development plans.
- Champion our customer experience, ensuring proactive service, timely communication, and elevated outcomes across every touchpoint.
- Influence commercial performance - control costs, unlock revenue opportunities, manage budgets, and drive profitability improvements.
- Support strategic customer conversations - co-present in QBRs, protect high-value customers, and convert insights into action.
- Embed compliance and safety - model best practice across WHS, Dangerous Goods, Chain of Responsibility, and operational policies.
- Drive continuous improvement - identify inefficiencies, solve service gaps, and elevate how we work across systems, processes and people.
- Bring visibility to the business - provide sharp insights and reporting on performance, compliance, risks, and opportunities.
Skills and Experience:
- Proven success in leading commercial or customer-facing teams
- Strong commercial acumen, with budget and P&L knowledge
- A leadership style that builds capability and inspires accountability
- Deep understanding of logistics and supply chain dynamics
- Experience with CRM tools and customer performance metrics
- Familiarity with the Australian transport industry regulations, WHS, and compliance frameworks
- Exposure to Lean Six Sigma, Power BI and/or continuous improvement methodologies/tools
