The Role
We have an exciting temporary full-time Senior Project Officer position available to join our Project Management Office until 31 December 2025 (unless otherwise determined) at TAFE Queensland's South Brisbane Campus.
As a Senior Project Officer, you will:
- Assist in the implementation of TAFE Queensland Brisbane's projects to ensure consistency with organisational strategy, commitment and goals are achieved.
- Make significant contributions to the organisations business performance through high-level project management and support.
This position reports to the Educational Manager, Commercial.
Salary
The salary range for a Senior Project Officer is $102, $111, gross) per annum plus superannuation contributions of 12.75% of your salary.

Key responsibilities
- Contribute to the success of transformation and cultural change through promoting and modelling the established values of Safety First, Working Together, Focussing on our Customer, Taking Responsibility and Showing Initiative.
- Manage and undertake specific projects as allocated by the organisations management.
- Analyse project requirements, consult with stakeholders and report on initiatives.
- Manage and prioritise the strategic and operational aspects of projects including the preparation of reports, spreadsheets, planning documentation and other written correspondence.
- Identify legislative and other parameters within which the project is to be completed.
- Monitor the progress of projects including the establishment of performance indicators and the maintenance of a quality record system to meet requests for information and for statistical and planning purposes.
- Maintain project related registers including Risk and Issues register, Actions registers, engagement registers
- Develop and maintain effective project communication links with stakeholders by providing regular reports and feedback on project activities.
- Prepare specific recommendations and strategies to facilitate the implementation of the projects.
- Record, analyse, report and monitor project management activities and contractual obligations ensuring a high degree of accuracy and critical deadlines are met.
- Actively work with stakeholders to drive customer focused practices and intervention strategies to resolve operational issues and complaints.
- Maintain an understanding of the commercial aspects of TAFE including financial and business performance and any impact from external factors and undertake all work in accordance with relevant legislation including TAFE Queensland policies and procedures.
- Undertake other work as directed.

- Demonstrated skills in achieving organisational objectives through the application of project management techniques.
- Highly developed organisational, planning, prioritising and problem solving skills
- Demonstrates advanced digital literacy, with the ability to confidently navigate and utilise a wide range of digital platforms, tools, and systems to support operational efficiency and strategic decision-making.
- Highly developed written communication and interpersonal skills, including a proven ability to effectively liaise, consult and negotiate with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Displays flexibility and responsiveness and has the initiative, positive attitude and ability to thrive within a dynamic, challenging and changing environment.
Highly Desirable
Candidates who possess the following will be highly regarded:
- A qualification in project management; or willingness to attain
- Theoretcial understanding or practical experience in project management
