They are expanding the team and are seeking a highly skilled Telecommunications Technician to join our growing workforce.
Role Overview:
As a Telecommunications Technician at Infra Optics, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of telecommunications equipment and networks. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of network infrastructure and a passion for providing excellent service. You will play a key part in supporting our clients' communication systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain telecommunications networks, including optical fiber systems, cable, and wireless technologies.
- Troubleshoot and repair network infrastructure issues to minimize downtime.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Perform fiber optic splicing, testing, and certification as part of network upgrades and installations.
- Ensure proper functionality of customer-premises equipment (CPE) and handle technical service calls.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to design and implement network improvements.
- Provide expert advice to clients regarding telecommunication solutions, service upgrades, and best practices.
- Monitor network performance and provide reports to management on any technical issues or improvements.
- Work in accordance with ANZSCO standards for Telecommunications Technicians, ensuring adherence to industry-specific safety and regulatory practices.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in telecommunications or related field.
- Proficiency in installing and servicing telecommunication equipment, including routers, switches, optical fiber cables, and wireless devices.
- Strong ability to diagnose network issues and provide effective solutions in real-time.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with clients and team members.
- Understanding of safety protocols and regulatory requirements in the telecommunications industry.

Job Type & Salary:
- Full-time permanent position
- The base salary will be $75,000 - $85,000 plus superannuation.
Working Hours:
- Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work based on operational requirements
