Are you ready to dive into a role where you'll be at the heart of ensuring our fleet's operational readiness? As a vital member of our team, you will provide essential structural engineering support for our aircraft stationed at Horn Island. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of tasks including sheet metal work, handling composites, and implementing corrosion prevention measures. But that's not all – you'll also be instrumental in making modifications and preserving both the interior and exterior of our aircraft.
In this role, you won't just be a bystander; you'll join hands with our engineering team, offering your expertise and support whenever it's needed. And while your primary base may be at Horn Island, you should be prepared for temporary travel assignments to other Babcock bases. This could mean lending your skills to different fleet aircraft, ensuring their safety and functionality wherever they may be stationed.
You're ready to take on a dynamic and crucial role, joining Babcock's skilled aviation professionals in ensuring the smooth operation of our fleet, and keeping the aircraft in top-notch condition to fulfill their missions effectively.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Corrosion prevention and aircraft preservation
- Assist Licenced Aircraft Maintenance Engineers
- Provide structures support for the Horn Island fleet such as: Sheet metal, composites, corrosion prevention, modifications, and the interior/exterior preservation of the fleet.
- Prepare and keep safe working areas, adhering to safety procedures and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Hangar Equipment Maintenance and Presentation
- Communicate effectively with not only team members and supervisors but also external stakeholders.
About You
You're a trade qualified aviation structures engineer or AME with proven skills and experience. Your proficiency in composites, sheet metal, and paint within the aviation industry sets you up to succeed in this role. A certificate in Aircraft Maintenance or Equivalent is desirable but not essential.
