About this Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager Governance, the Civic Events Officer will coordinate and deliver civic events of significance, including:
- Regular Citizenship Ceremonies in accordance with the Australian Citizenship Ceremonies Code
- The Australia Day Citizenship Ceremony
- Ceremonial events such as the Freeman of the City bestowal
This is a part-time role (0.2 FTE) and will require occasional after-hours work in alignment with event scheduling.
About You
You will bring:
- Demonstrated experience in event coordination and/or administration
- High-level customer service, interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and computer literacy
- The ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team
- Flexibility to work after hours when events are scheduled
- A valid WA 'C' class driver's licence
Desirable qualifications include experience delivering citizenship ceremonies and/or working in local government.
Selection Criteria
- Highly developed interpersonal, teamwork, communication and relationship building skills with an ability to provide a high level of customer service.
- Well-developed computer literacy skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work after hours, as required.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a culturally diverse environment.
- Experience in planning and / or delivering Citizenship Ceremonies. (Desirable)
- Experience working in Local Government or a similar environment. (Desirable)

Hours of Work
This is a permanent part-time position working 15 hours per fortnight. We welcome flexible work arrangements to help support your work-life balance.
About the Benefits
The salary range for this position is $75,177 - $80,098 per annum pro-rata (depending on qualifications and experience) plus superannuation. Other inclusions are annual increments, annual salary increases, a generous superannuation co-contribution scheme and 22 days annual leave (pro-rata) which attracts 17.5% loading. We also offer flexible work arrangements or the option for a rostered day off fortnightly or monthly.
