The Opportunity

We are currently seeking experienced and reliable candidates for the role of Trade Assistant to join our O&M team in Cunderdin, WA. This is a great opportunity to someone local in the Cunderdin Shire to find a rewarding career.

You will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the site electricians in meeting their PM/CM goals, following the maintenance schedules and performing routine plant maintenance tasks

  • Assisting the electricians with manual works on site in relation to fixing equipment and assets

  • Identifying potential problems and suggesting changes or corrective actions

  • Maintaining the necessary tools, equipment and PPE

  • Performing stock takes and spare parts inventory

  • Providing ground management when needed (mowing, trimming, weed spraying etc)

  • Operating machinery such as a tractor

  • Completing administrative duties

What we're looking for:

  • Experience in working in a trade assistance or labourer role within the construction industries (solar industry experience and advantage)

  • Mechanical and technical skills are preferred

  • A strong safety-first mindset and commitment to following all site procedures and protocols with good personal organisational skills

  • Sound communication skills both written and oral and the ability to present information both clearly and concisely

  • Organisational skills with the ability to implement good time management, task allocation and priority assignment

  • Strong work ethic, positive team attitude and be able to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Physical fitness, the ability to perform manual tasks for extended periods and the ability to work on outdoor activities

  • Driver's license and reliable transportation for daily commute

  • Construction White Card or equivalent

  • Forklift license advantageous

  • Ability to pass medical, drug, alcohol tests and Police Check
