Are you passionate about animals and ready to work in a fast-paced, supportive environment? Sydney Petlands is seeking a Casual Animal Attendant to join our growing team. This role is hands-on and rewarding — perfect for someone with strong animal handling skills and a love for helping both pets and people.

  • Job Type: Casual

  • Pay Rate: $20.00 – $52.38 per hour (depending on shift and experience)

  • Schedule: 8-hour shifts (morning and afternoon), 2 days per week during low season with additional shifts available during peak times

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily care, husbandry and handling of cats and dogs

  • Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness across the facility

  • Monitor and report on animal behaviour and health

  • Deliver excellent customer service to clients

  • Work collaboratively with a small, passionate team

  • Confidently work independently when required

Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year experience in animal care (preferred)

  • Proven experience in handling animals, especially dogs of all breeds and temperaments

  • Strong knowledge of dog behaviour and body language

  • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills

  • High level of physical fitness – this is an active, on-your-feet role

  • Clear and friendly communication skills with both clients and colleagues

  • Basic computer literacy

  • Flexible across a 7 day roster

  • Current NSW Driver's License
