About the role

MRM Maintenance and Fabrication is seeking experienced Underground Tradesperson to join our team on a casual or sub-contractor basis. This role will see you working in underground mining operations in the Central West and Mid West, NSW regions where you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of essential mining equipment and infrastructure.

As an Underground Tradesperson, you will play a vital part in ensuring our customers operations run smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the overall success of the business. This is a hands-on role that will see you working in a fast-paced, challenging environment, utilising your broad range of trade skills.

What you'll be doing

  • Performing preventative maintenance and repairs on a variety of mining equipment, including machinery, vehicles and infrastructure
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues with mining equipment to minimise downtime
  • Longwall Relocation
  • Collaborating with the wider maintenance team to ensure a coordinated and efficient approach
  • Adhering to all safety procedures and regulations to maintain a safe working environment
  • Providing on-the-job training and guidance to less experienced team members

What we're looking for

  • Relevant trade qualification (e.g. Electrical or Mechanical)
  • Significant experience working as a Tradesperson in an underground mining environment
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose and repair a wide range of mining equipment.
  • Conveyor Maintenance and Installation experience will be highly regarded.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends. Fixed rosters may also be available.
