The School
Coastal Lakes College (CLC) is a vibrant and forward-thinking secondary school in the growing Peel region. Established in 2019 it has evolved into a comprehensive Year 7 to 12 college that serves students across the six-year levels, offering diverse pathways tailored to support individual aspirations and learning journeys. As an inclusive school community, we are united by a shared vision of "success for all students" and a commitment to developing the whole child. Our staff work collaboratively to deliver outstanding learning experiences across academics, social-emotional learning, the arts, sport, culture, and community engagement. Guided by our motto — Imagine, Believe, Inspire and Achieve we challenge every student to imagine the possibilities, believe in themselves, inspire themselves and others and achieve their personal best.

Our strong partnerships with local community organisations and feeder primary schools have created a supportive network for staff, students, and families. At CLC, you'll be part of a passionate team that values innovation, collaboration, and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day.

The Role
CLC is ideally seeking an enthusiastic, innovative, and proactive Year Coordinator to join our dedicated Student Services team. This full-time position is central to our commitment to pastoral care and student wellbeing, playing a vital role in fostering growth, engagement, and a strong sense of belonging for every student.

As a Year Coordinator, you will be a visible and approachable leader for students, working closely with our Student Services Managers, teachers, school support staff, and the wider community. You will ideally design and deliver initiatives that promote connection, inclusion, and positive culture, while supporting the College's priorities and values.

We are ideally looking for a passionate professional with:

  • Strong leadership, communication, and behaviour management skills
  • The ability to build trusted relationships with students, staff, and families
  • A genuine interest in supporting students' social, emotional, and academic wellbeing
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practice
  • Resilience, empathy, and the capacity to manage competing priorities with a calm and reflective approach
  • A collaborative approach to problem-solving and the creativity to design innovative solutions for building safe, supportive, and positive school communities

Ideally, in this role you will:

  • Lead wellbeing initiatives and reward programs that celebrate student success
  • Support students in navigating social, emotional, behavioural, and academic challenges
  • Apply restorative practices to resolve conflict and strengthen relationships
  • Coordinate key school events and contribute to the smooth daily operation of Student Services
  • Guide students through important transitions, fostering a safe and supportive environment
  • Engage every student in learning opportunities that enable them to achieve their personal best and develop skills for life beyond school

Gatekeeper training and trauma informed practice are preferable but not essential. What matters most is your ability to bring clarity, vision, and teamwork to the role — working closely with students, colleagues, parents, and the wider community to achieve the best outcomes for our young people.

This position is ideal for individuals with student services experience and/or teachers seeking to develop their skills and knowledge in this area, with a view to gaining future leadership opportunities.

This position includes a small teaching load.
