Tonkin is currently seeking a highly technical and experienced
Senior Civil Designer – Water & Wastewater Projects
to join our Design and Drafting team. Specialising in water and wastewater projects, you will play a key role in delivering civil and mechanical design documentation for a wide range of infrastructure projects across South Australia and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead design and drafting efforts across civil, mechanical, and structural sectors for water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Produce detailed process and mechanical design documentation using AutoCAD, 12d Model and Inventor 3D.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers to develop optimal, cost-effective designs for major water projects and other infrastructure projects.
  • Apply your expertise in the design and detailing of water and wastewater infrastructure, pipelines, and pump stations.
  • Utilise advanced software tools like CAD, 12d, and Inventor to streamline drafting processes and ensure high-quality outputs.

Key Qualifications And Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience using 12D, Civil3D, and AutoCAD in the design and drafting of Australian infrastructure projects.
  • Extensive experience in general civil design, particularly in water and wastewater infrastructure, road design, or stormwater design.
  • A strong foundation in water and sewerage design, including pipelines and pump stations.
  • A proven ability to work in fast-paced environments, managing multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and client service skills, with the ability to manage stakeholders effectively.

Job location
This role is based at Tonkin's state-of-the-art head office in Adelaide's CBD.

Flexible/work-from-home arrangements may also be possible.
