About Us:
Metella Road OOSH is a community based, not-for-profit service located on the grounds of Metella Road Public School in Toongabbie. We respectfully acknowledge the Tugagal clan of the Darug people as the traditional custodians of the land on which our children live, play, and learn.
About The Role:
This role involves a combination of office-based responsibilities, supporting the Centre Director, and on-the-floor leadership, guiding educators, overseeing compliance, and ensuring the service upholds the highest standards of child safety, inclusion, and quality care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the Responsible Person when required
- Lead and mentor educators, ensuring understanding and implementation of policies and procedures
- Monitor and maintain compliance with the National Quality Framework, Education and Care Services National Regulations and service policies
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with regulatory requirements
- Build and sustain strong, positive relationships with children, families, and the local community
- Support continuous improvement through critical reflection, feedback, and quality assurance processes
What We're Looking For:
You are an experienced, organised, and approachable leader with a strong commitment to child safety, compliance, and quality education. You have a proven ability to mentor and support educators, foster a positive and inclusive environment, and uphold high standards in line with regulatory requirements and Child Safe Standards.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education or School Age Education & Care
- Experience in a leadership or support role within an OOSH or early childhood service.
- CHCPRT025 Identify and Report Children and Young People at Risk
- 1–2 years experience as a Responsible Person
- Thorough knowledge of NQF, My Time, Our Place, and Child Protection Requirements.
- Current First Aid, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis Certificates.
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with a strong emphasis on policy implementation and compliance.
Child Safeguarding
Child safety is our highest priority. The Assistant Director will take a proactive role in safeguarding children, ensuring all educators are trained, supported, and following the highest standards of care and compliance.
