About the Role

As an Electrical Estimator at Big Blue Electrical, you won't be boxed in or forgotten behind a screen. You'll be a key contributor in shaping the future of our projects from day one — working closely with management, suppliers, and clients to ensure our quotes are accurate, competitive, and aligned with our high standards.

Your daily impact may include:

• Preparing detailed and accurate electrical estimates for commercial projects.

• Reviewing plans, drawings, and specifications to prepare competitive pricing.

• Performing take-offs and material/labour cost breakdowns.

• Liaising with suppliers for up-to-date pricing and procurement support.

• Collaborating with the project management team to refine scopes and support quoting strategy.

• Contributing innovative ideas to improve accuracy and efficiency in the estimating process.

This is a 4-day-a-week role with flexible working hours to suit the right candidate, though a full-time option is available for someone seeking a more involved position. There's plenty of room to grow into a senior estimator or commercial manager role as the business continues to expand

Skills and Experience

Must-Have:

• Reliability, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude

• Strong communication skills and attention to detail

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

• Good analytical and numerical ability

• Estimating or quoting experience (preferably in the electrical or construction sector)

• Understanding of procurement and supplier pricing processes

Nice to Have (but not essential):

• Previous experience in an electrical or building services company

• Familiarity with project management or estimating software (SimPRO, Ascora, etc.)

• Exposure to commercial electrical drawings and specifications
