Description

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Services Manager to lead the delivery of routine, reactive and incident‑driven maintenance across the Downer's Northern Assets portfolio. This high‑impact operational leadership role is central to keeping the network safe, available and responsive for the travelling public.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead day‑to‑day delivery of routine, reactive and defect maintenance across the network.

  • Manage supervisors, crews and subcontractors to ensure safe, high‑quality field execution.

  • Oversee incident response performance, including readiness, resourcing and escalation.

  • Ensure accurate work order completion, field documentation and system discipline.

  • Allocate labour, plant, equipment and subcontractors to meet operational demands.

  • Coordinate closures, access windows and night‑work operational delivery.

  • Champion Zero Harm and maintain compliance with safety standards, audits and corrective actions.

What you'll bring

  • 7+ years' experience in road/tunnel maintenance or incident response.
  • Proven leadership of multidisciplinary teams in 24/7 operational settings.
  • Experience with emergency response, tunnel shutdowns and defect management.
  • Strong working knowledge of maintenance delivery processes, safety systems and work management platforms (e.g., Maximo).
  • Calm, decisive leadership style and strong communication capability.
