Your Role

As a Grounds and Maintenance Officer, your role will assist in the upkeep and maintenance requirements of the Village.

Your tasks will include:

  • Perform gardening duties including mowing of all lawns, and ensuring edges and hedges are trimmed appropriately.
  • Maintain the village grounds, interior, and building surrounds in a neat, clean, tidy and presentable condition.
  • Manage garbage disposal and maintain cleanliness of outside areas/pool areas.
  • Assist with general maintenance of the property, general care and securing of equipment.
  • Report on any hazards or security breaches to the Retirement Village Concierge.
  • Maintain the village's relevant equipment and supplies, and arrange replacement when necessary.
  • Perform driving duties of Ozcare vehicles including courier and delivery duties (as required).

Role Requirements

  • Current Police Screening Certificate
  • Certificate III or equivalent experience in a related area and/or A trade Qualification in the building industry e.g. Carpentry/building (desirable)
  • Demonstrated relevant experience in undertaking gardening duties and the maintenance of the grounds
  • Ability to empathise with disadvantaged and/or older persons
  • Experience in stock management
  • Current Queensland Driver's Licence
  • Current First Aid & CPR Certificates
  • Good computer and mobile device skills
  • If the service is co-located with any of our aged care facilities, the influenza and covid vaccinations will be required
