About our College:

Mt Hira College is a growing independent, co-educational Islamic College located in the South-Eastern suburb of Keysborough. The College is an ELC to Year 12 College, which caters for students from diverse backgrounds. The College offers students every opportunity to grow through a varied and exciting range of opportunities and the College aims to employ staff of outstanding quality, committed to supporting exemplary student outcomes.

Recruiting for 2026:

The successful candidate will commence at the beginning of Term 1, 2026. Appropriate reference and background checks will be undertaken for all applicants.

The applicant must be enthusiastic and passionate about teaching and demonstrate a genuine care for students. The successful applicant will possess the relevant qualifications for the position and must have VIT registration upon commencement.

All members of staff at the College are expected to be competent in the use of technology in the classroom, active in the pastoral management of students, supportive of the College's philosophy and able to contribute to the sporting and wider co-curricular program.

About the Role:

• Develop and deliver music related lessons for students.
• Cater for individual learning needs within the classroom.
• Work in the Music department to develop and evaluate curriculum.
• Providing music support to individuals and students.
• Demonstrate knowledge of content and pedagogy.
• Monitor, evaluate and report of student progress.
• Create a culture of learning within the classroom.
• Contribute to the co-curricular music program and events.
• Ensure all students are supported and inspired in the Performing Arts classroom

Key selection criteria & qualifications:

• Hold relevant qualifications and certifications for the role.
• Have experience in the same role or a similar role.
• Can work independently and as part of a team.
• Have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills that lead to strong, respectful and sustainable relationships.
• Support the College's Mission, Vision and Ethos.
• Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident only.
