North Sydney Council, Australia Strata Unit Underwriters (SUU) Full time $60,000 - $90,000 per year

Are you passionate about the insurance industry and thrive on analysing risks? We're seeking a Claims Lodgement Specialist to be responsible for lodging new claims into the claims system in a timely and accurate manner and provide excellent lodgement services for our client at claims time.

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Respond to new claims inquiries over the phone and via email.
  • Efficient and effective registering of new claims into the Claim System.
  • Excellent understanding and ability to follow the lodgement process and procedures.
  • Initial review to settle and finalise claims that could be fast tracked, with applying understanding of policy wording to determine policy coverage and response, and leverage the expertise of Team Leader, Technical Specialists and other key stakeholders.
  • Initial review and appoint appropriate suppliers, including builders, loss adjusters and other specialists.
  • Conduct evaluations and basic investigatory tasks by gathering and documenting relevant information within the SUU systems as required.
  • Communicate the next step to brokers and customers in writing.

This position would suit somebody who has a desire to grow a career in the claims space and become an expert in their field We want to identify somebody who has a strategic mindset, with strong customer focus to drive results through strong collaboration and knowledge growth

Additionally, we are looking for someone who has the following experience and background in order to be successful in the role:

  • work experience in a customer facing, service-orientated role.
  • to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • exposure to insurance claims handling systems, processes and procedures, preferred not essential.
