The Company - Beaufort River Meats, Beaufort River

We are a well-established export meat processing plant approx 2.5 hours south of Perth. We pride ourselves on providing quality products of a consistently high standard as well as ensuring customer satisfaction on every occasion. As the business grows, we have positions for suitable applicants to join our small Maintenance Team.

The plant operates a single shift operation, 5 days a week with overtime at peak periods.

The Position: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

The nature of the Job encompasses all plant service monitoring and maintenance within the Plant. The position will ensure that services are maintained to the plant to enable operation at all times. Location of employment will be at Beaufort River.

Communicate as necessary with the operations managers and maintenance manager to determine job priorities and assist with the allocation/completion of the jobs.

Provide coverage as required for the Engineering associated work and with the various production departments of the Plant.

The key responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Fault finding and assist with mechanical fitting work as needed.
  • Liaising with internal, external customers and suppliers in a professional manner.
  • Organising and managing projects including the delivery of materials, plant and equipment
  • Carrying out inspections to ensure optimum performance is maintained
  • Deliver training to operators undertaking maintenance activities as required.
  • Coordinates delivery of maintenance to comply with expectations and timeframes
  • To be proactive with instigation and development of new systems

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must holds at least 2 to 3 years employment skills and experience in related field and industry.
  • Must be a Qualified Mechanical Engineer
  • The ability to demonstrate and develop skills in relation to plant services performance and monitoring
  • Must be able to speak/ready and understand English
