About the Role

Reporting to the Surface Maintenance Fixed Plant Electrical Supervisor, this permanent, full-time FIFO role is an important part of our Surface Maintenance team at Telfer Mine, WA. This position is responsible for maintaining the safety, reliability, and long-term integrity of our refrigeration and cooling water assets on the Surface, incorporating Carrier 19XR Liquid Chillers, large Cooling Towers and Evaporative Units, down to Ice Machines, Air Dryers, APAC units and split systems.

As a Surface Maintenance Refrigeration Technician, you will be responsible for:

• Maintain high performance standards and take a proactive approach to Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) at all times.

• Installing, commissioning, maintaining and repairing a wide variety of HVAC & refrigeration equipment across site.

• Ensure all electrical work complies with WHS requirements, relevant acts, standards, and regulations.

• Identify opportunities for system optimization, energy savings, and performance improvements.

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system faults, as well as executing preventative maintenance, within required timeframes to minimise downtime.

• Commissioning, testing, and system balancing of new or upgraded HVAC & refrigeration systems.

• Identify and report defective equipment by raising notifications and confirming work orders in SAP.

About You

We're looking for a skilled and reliable Refrigeration Technician with a strong focus on safety, quality workmanship, and teamwork. You'll need to be confident working in a mining environment, diagnosing and repairing electrical, instrumentation and refrigerant issues, and ensuring equipment runs efficiently. A good eye for detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are key to this role.

In addition to these qualities, the ideal candidate should have:

• Restricted Electrical Licence.
• Cert III in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.
• At least 3 years of post-trade maintenance experience, with hands-on exposure to large-scale mining in a Process Plant environment.
• The ability to read and interpret schematic drawings.
• LV Rescue and CPR Training.
• First Aid Certification.
• Competent computer skills, with experience using SAP or a similar Computerised Maintenance Management System.
• Working at Heights certification.
• EWP (Elevated Work Platform) ticket (not essential).
• Confined Space Training (not essential).
