What You'll Be Doing
The Director Children's Court Clinic (CCC) is responsible for ensuring excellence in the provision of statewide clinical services providing independent assessment of children and families in response to orders issued by the NSW Children's Court. The Director is required under legislation to allocate assessments to the most appropriate clinician (s.35, Children's Court Rule 2000) an requires a high level of experience, qualifications and proven competence in conducting forensic clinical mental health assessments of children and families.

The Director oversees the quality, safe and efficient operational management of clinic functions, with an emphasis on effective human resource and financial management. The Director is responsible for strategic planning including service design and delivery within the Children's Court Clinic including the redesign and implementation of a clinical service plan, business plan and model of care. The role provides operational management of employees within CCC including staff performance, supervision, support and education/training.

The position reports to the Clinical Stream Director (CSD) Priority Populations. In collaboration with SCHN Violence Abuse and Neglect (VAN) Service Leads and CSD Priority Populations, the Director CCC will contribute to the review of child protection strategic and operational plans to provide integrated and collaborative VAN services. This includes ensuring models of service delivery are responsive to client needs, utilisation of evidence-based practice and promoting the development of effective and collaborative working relationships with other departments and agencies.

About You
We're looking for someone who:

  • Has relevant tertiary qualifications or relevant equivalent work experience in health in conducting, directing and evaluating forensic and/or clinical assessments/services or a combination of study and work experience.
  • Demonstrates ability to develop, implement and review policies and procedures that impact on the operation of the Clinic and the services provided.
  • Values relationship and cross organisational management skills including capacity to manage people and resources, develop budgets and business plans.
