Swanonline is a Christ-centred and innovative online sub-school of Swan Christian College, based at the SCEA Head Office in Midland. We provide quality education for students in Years 7-12, supporting their spiritual, emotional and academic development as they learn from home.
We are seeking a caring and dedicated Chaplain to join our team for a 9-month Parental Leave cover position commencing late February 2026. In this role, you will play an integral part in guiding and supporting students' wellbeing through one-on-one and small group pastoral care, helping them stay connected, encouraged, and equipped for success in their studies and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Lead and deliver Christian Living online lessons, providing creative, tech-savvy, and Christ-centred mentoring to students both online and in person.
- Support student wellbeing, re-engaging students in physical schooling, offering prayer and guidance, and being a compassionate presence during challenges or crises.
- Collaborate within the Wellbeing Team, assisting the School Psychologist, supporting students needing external services, and contributing to a safe, caring school environment.
- Build strong relationships with students, parents, and staff through effective communication, academic coaching, and spiritual conversations, acting as a positive role model.
- Contribute to College life, including extra-curricular events like Engagement Days, excursions, and productions, while demonstrating active involvement in all school dimensions.
- Perform administrative and support duties, including absentee follow-up, learning support data, and other responsibilities as requested by leadership, adhering to College policies.
Selection Criteria:
Essential:
- Demonstrates a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and is an active member of a Christian church, living in alignment with the Association's Statement of Faith and beliefs.
- Builds and maintains strong, healthy relationships with families, College staff, and SCEA Head Office.
- Communicates effectively with exceptional interpersonal skills, fostering trust and collaboration.
- Organised and efficient, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage workloads under pressure.
- Applies strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment, especially in time-sensitive situations.
- Holds a current Working with Children card and Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check, meeting all compliance requirements.
Desirable:

- Experience in educational support and/or chaplaincy.
- Competent with technology and able to quickly learn our Learning platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, TASS web, Canvas)
- Excited to work with students who require additional learning support.
